Chris Colt first showed up in Toronto in 1972 on his own and as part of several tags including The Hells Angels with Ron Dupree. By the mid 1970s he crossed over to Dave McKigney's Big Bear circuit and if he had not created hardcore wrestling, he advanced it in some respects. As you can see in the photos taken in Cornwall ON 1982 & 1983. He held McKigney’s North American Title a few times over the years and had big feuds with Whipper Jr, Johnny Valiant, and McKigney himself (as Wildman).
There were buckets of blood spilled at the old Water St Arena and across the circuit in those days. If Colt was appearing you were guaranteed some blood and a lot of mayhem! In the photos above you can note Streetfights, and a couple of cage bouts. The summer tours in the early 80's were a cage every night as they barnstormed across the smaller towns.
